Not too long ago Alaska Airlines was announcing their new Alaska Beyond Entertainment service, this service will continue to be for free through March 31, 2015. After that, you will have to pay for premium movies and TV shows starting at 1,99 USD.

Now Alaska is retiring their old hand-held entertainment devices and replacing them with Toshiba Encore 2 Windows tablets. Beginning February 1, the new tablets will be available and can be rent on long-haul flights for 8-10 USD. The tablets will come preloaded with premium movies and TV shows and will feature Xbox games. The rentable tablets will continue to be offered at no charge to First Class customers and MVP Gold75Ks.

I haven’t got the chance yet to try out their new service but hoping to try it out very soon as well as their new tablets.
