Dragonair is part of the Cathay Group since 2006 and serves mainly the mainland of China. On the other side Cathay Pacific is a renowned international carrier with world-class service. Both airlines together now are almost serving 200 destinations worldwide.

To show travellers that Dragonair is part of the Cathay Group it will be renamed to Cathay Dragon. The airline will also get a new logo and livery for its planes

And Cathay is absolutely right doing this step. When I have been in Hong Kong and did some Planespotting, I never knew that Dragonair was already part of the Cathay Group. For me Dragonair was just another chinese Carrier. This is a logical step and shows their customers that they can expect the same class of service and high standards as from Cathay Pacific.

In the coming month the rebrand will roll out across the many products and services Cathay Dragon will offer.

Cathay Dragon’s in-flight meals and service will continue Dragonair’s tradition of providing the best of Chinese and Hong Kong cuisine.
