I was arriving at PHL from an international flight departing Munich. I had a 3 hour layover and was looking for a lounge to sit down and kill some time in between flights. First I opened the Priority Pass app on my phone and was shocked that there is no lounge at this airport which can be accessed with a Priority Pass card. Then I saw the sign for the British Airways lounge and headed straight there.
Being an AAdvantage Executive Platinum / Oneworld Emerald member gave me the option to use this lounge. I was second in line and was checked in quickly. Because of being an Emerald member, I was able to choose if I would like to use the Business Class or First Class part of the lounge.
Th concierge at the check-in told me that the drinks are better at the First Class area, but the other side has more seating available.
If you actually fly on British Airways and have an actual Business or First Class ticket you can use the designated dinning areas. Otherwise they have a small snack bar with soup, sandwiches and chips and of course lots of drinks (alcoholic or non-alcoholic)
I arrived shortly after the lounge opened for today and staff were still preparing some things here and there. Service was good and staff comes by to check on you if you need anything else or to take your finished plates.
There are not to many power outlets, but it got solved by putting power strips between the seating areas. This looks a little bit like a patch up instead of great design, but hey I won’t complain about that. Better than no power outlets at all and being stranded with an empty battery.
The same lounge is used by Qatar Airways during the morning, when they operate their flights.
The lounge is located between the A-West and A-East gates. If you enter through the closest security checkpoint, make a right and the lounge will come up after a few feet to your right hand side.
