On another trip back from the USA to Germany, I had a layover again at London Heathrow. My plane was departing from Terminal 5 so I made use of the lounges in this terminal. This was when I just became a Oneworld Emerald member and am now able to visit the First Class lounge. On my earlier trip, I was only Oneworld Sapphire and was not able to visit the First Class Lounge. Check out the review here.

After showing my boarding pass with my Oneworld Emerald Status on it, I was granted access to the lounge. This was my first time in this lounge. This lounge is not very different from the Galleries Business Class Lounge just next to this one. Amenities are pretty much the same as well as food and drinks.

The design is the same as well – modern and chick.

Since it was a First Class Lounge, I was hoping for a little bit less crowded lounge. During my visit, the lounge was pretty full. There were seats available but scattered throughout the lounge. As a solo traveler, this was no issue for me. If you are a family, on the other hand, you could face some space issues. This was so far my only visit to this lounge and I don’t know if I just got unlucky and that’s why the lounge was so full or if it’s normal.

The staff was able to keep up with this many guests and there was always plenty of food and drinks everywhere. They were also quick to take your used plates. The service was really excellent, but as mentioned for me a bit too crowded.

If you want you can take a shower or sign up for a Spa Treatment at the nearby Elemis Travel Spa. Make sure you get your spot at the Spa right away. It’s on a first-come-first-served basis. Most likely they will already have appointments and you can go back and grab a bite to eat until you are up.

It was great to have access to it and it makes time go by way faster. The only thing you can hope for in the First Class Lounge is, that it is less crowded than the Business Class Lounge. All other Amenities are pretty much the same. As long as I have my Emerald Status I will come back here to this Lounge when I am passing through Terminal 5 at LHR.
