The Louvre Abu Dhabi was inaugurated on November 8th, 2017 and is an art and civilization museum located on the Saadiyat Island Cultural District. With its approximately 260,000 sq ft (24.000 m²) it is the largest museum on the Arabian peninsula.

During the public opening ceremony, hundreds of visitors were treated with a low-level fly-by of Etihad’s flagship plane, the Airbus A380.

Etihad also took the opportunity of the fly-by to take images and commission a video by upcoming Emirati director Ahmed Abdulqader. The videos were shot from the flight deck of the A380 and within the Louvre.

All four engines of the A380 were carrying the logo of the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Etihad Airways is the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s official airline partner, having signed the first exclusive platinum partnership in October.
