If you follow my blog, I am sure you found the one or other post about Silvercar. Silvercar reinvented the rental car industry. It’s a completely paperless process from renting to vehicle drop-off. You get a luxury car for a decent price, which can compete with conventional rental car companies. Besides that, there are no hidden fees. You get a fully loaded car and even Toll-Tracking is inclusive. You just pay for what you used and no daily fee or other hidden charges like with conventional rental car agencies. Silvercar started out by just offering one car, the Audi A4. Since then Silvercar has evolved and even got bought by Audi itself. Later on, they started adding the Audi Q5 to their portfolio and now another model joins the Silvercar family.

Starting with June 29, 2018, you can book the Audia A5 Cabriolet (convertible) at 14 locations. Just in time for the summer travel season.

  • Chicago O’Hare
  • Denver
  • Los Angeles
  • Miami
  • Newark
  • NYC: Brooklyn Downtown, Columbus Circle, & Manhattan
  • Orange County
  • Salt Lake City
  • San Diego
  • San Francisco
  • Seattle
  • Washington Dulles

The Audi A5 comes with everything you know and love from their other models like 4G LTE Wifi, Sirius XM radio, and Peg Perego car seats. The A5’s four-cylinder engine brings you from 0-60 mph in 6 seconds and the interior features Audi’s new Virtual Cockpit.

You probably already guessed it, the A5 will be also the most expensive Silvercar to rent. I checked the prices for a future trip to San Francisco and the A5 will go for $149/day. That’s a pretty steep price tag but where else could you get an Audi A5 guaranteed as your rental car? One other option, but only in San Francisco, would be Audi’s own rental service – Audi on demand.

In case you rent with Audi on demand in San Francisco, you will pay for the same car $210/day instead of the $149/day with Silvercar. I never rented with Audi on demand but the process seems not as seamless as with Silvercar.
