This is the perfect website/app for aviation geeks. The Aviation Herald provides coverage of safety-relevant incidents and news in aviation. You only hear the big news on the TV, but the Aviation Herald lists all kinds of accidents and incidents related to planes and aviation. Like a flight attendant who fell out of a plane in Moscow, bird strikes, and even tragic plane crashes.

Most of the reports are minor and not a real threat to the life of the crew and passengers. However, it’s interesting how much stuff is really going on in this industry.

Don’t panic, small incidents are normal and the crew is trained to handle them.

The website design of the Aviation Herald could use an overhaul but for what it offers, the website is simple and information are easy to find (see screenshot above). So don’t let the design bother you.

If you use an iOS device, there is also an app to stay up to date with news from the Aviation Herald.

Developer: The Aviation Herald
Price: $12.99

The price is a bit high for an app but with your purchase, you can support future development and help pay for operating costs. There is also a way to donate to the Aviation Herald website.
