I love challenges, and this combines two of my main interests – aviation and travel. The Ambassador Program is amazing, and I found out about it by accident when I was hunting for another Airport Trading Card.

Below is a list of all stamp locations and where exactly you can find them. There are some notes about stamp locations on the Virginia Department of Aviation homepage, but only a fraction of the locations are listed on the website. There might be more stamp locations at some of the bigger airports listed below. If you have any additional information, please let me know and I will update the list.

Table of Contents

Map

Below is a map with all the airport and museum locations. This will help you to get a better overview of how spread out the locations are, and which ones are close to you. You can add the map below to your Google Maps and show it as an overlay on your smartphone app or maps.google.com.

Museums

Air Power Park

This free exhibit features a lot of historic aircraft and spacecraft. Totally worth a visit and underrated. The stamp is located inside the small visitor center building.

Website

Military Aviation Museum

The stamp can be collected during the operating hours of the museum. Ask at the admission counter, next to the gift shop, for the stamp and they will gladly help you out. It’s also a great place to visit and learn more about military aviation history.

Website

Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center (NASM)

Located at the information counter on the right past the main entrance and security checkpoint.

Admission is free but parking is $15. There are two exceptions. If you enter after 4 p.m. or stay less than 30 minutes you don’t have to pay for parking. The 30-minute time limit should be enough for you to run in and grab the stamp, but if you haven’t been here before you definitely should visit the museum. It’s one of the best in the country. I visited both locations, the one in Virginia and the museum in Washington. Both are so worth a visit.

Website

National Museum of the Marine Corps

The stamp is located at the information counter just past the main entrance. Just ask any attendant there for the stamp and they will help you out.

Admission to the museum is free.

Website

Science Museum of Virginia

The stamp is located at the guest services desk.

Website

Shannon Air Museum

The entrance to the Shannon Air Museum can be found through Robin’s Nest Cafe inside the airport terminal building. Ask anyone from the cafe or in the museum gift shop for the stamp. Remember, right next door you can also get the stamp for Shannon Airport.

Website

U.S. Army Transportation Museum

If you don’t have a military ID or base badge, please drive to the visitor center at the main gate and let them know you want to visit the museum. If you just type in the museum on Google Maps, it might route you to a side gate which you can’t use if you don’t have an acceptable ID for the base.

Website

Virginia Air and Space Center

Virginia Air & Space Center (VASC) is the official visitor center for NASA Langley Research Center.  One of the best exhibits is the Apollo 12 Command Module that went to the moon.

The stamp is available at the ticket counter.

Website

Tangier Island

Old Location

The stamp is available at Lorraine’s Seafood Restaurant. You can ask a waitress for the stamp. If they are new, they might not know but the stamp is at the counter near the cash register between the candy bars. Alternatively, you are supposed to be able to get it on weekends from the guy who is driving around with a golf cart to collect the landing fee or during the week at the Tangier Island Administration Building, which sits next to the airport. Your best bet is Lorraine’s.

New Location (Updated 2026-01-19)

Christian, a reader of the blog, contacted me with the new stamp location as he is currently working on completing his passport. It is now in the building next to the Swain Memorial United Methodist Church. See map below.

New Stamp Location

Williamsburg-Jamestown

The stamp is located inside the Terminal Building. Pass the restaurant waiter and stay to your right to get to the airport counter. Ask the attendant for the stamp. The restaurant is also a great place with amazing views of the airport.

Fly-ins

The fly-in stamps are available at airport events where the Virginia Department of Aviation is present. The Sun ‘n Fun Fly-In in Lakeland, Florida and EAA AirVenture in Oshkosh, Wisconsin also qualify as the Department of Aviation will be on site to stamp passports.

Instead of a fly-in, you can do an additional museum to qualify. I visited all the museums either way, as I want to complete the passport and get all the stamps.

Safety Seminars

Just participate in any of the FAAST safety seminars online. Most of them are free of charge. You only need to sign up for an FAAST account. You don’t need to be a pilot so sign up for an account. Anyone can participate. I printed out the certificate you get. It comes with a small copy and a large version. I stapled the smaller copy into my passport to have it ready for review.
