Booking & Stay Details

Booking of this hotel was done via the Hyatt app, which makes it easy and quick to book rooms on the go. I booked the room just a day before my arrival as I was driving in from another city. When I arrived, I noticed that the hotel just accepted bookings around the end of June 2023.

Location

This hotel, Hyatt Place and Hyatt House is one of the closest hotels to Sacramento International Airport.

It is roughly a 15-minute drive from and to the airport. Next to the two Hyatt properties is a Four Points by Sheraton hotel.

It also worth mentioning that the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place Sacramento International Airport are actually one building. Both of the two properties share many of the same amenities, like the front desk, fitness center, pool, dining area and so on. I like this fusion concept between Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. The only difference is the rooms you get and their layout. For longer stays I definitely prefer the Hyatt House type of rooms.

Parking

The hotel has a large parking lot right in front of the building. Parking is complimentary for hotel guests.

Shuttle Service

The hotel offers a complimentary shuttle service to and from the airport. Call the hotel when you arrive at the airport to get up to date shuttle bus information.

Check-In

Check-in was super easy and quick. A quick ID verification and I had my keys. The elevators are behind and to the left of the front desk. You can cut through the dining area or take the long way around by following the hallway to the right of the front desk.

Check-In: 3 p.m.
Check-Out: 12 p.m.

King Bed Room (Room 232)

My room was on the second floor down the hallway. The entryway of the room leads to the main sleeping area.

A King-sized bed sits against the wall with a nightstand on either side. Next to the bed is a window which looks out over the street next to the building. Trees covered most of the window area, so you have some privacy. You also can catch a glimpse of I-5.

Next to the bed is the L-shaped sofa bed which has a small table/footrest in front of it. A short divider wall is placed between the bed and the sofa bed. There is also a laptop stand next to the sofa for convenient working.

Opposite the bed is a work desk and a wall-mounted TV which sits above the work desk. In the cabinet under the left side of the work desk is a small refrigerator. The attached dresser also doubles at suitcase stand. But it is a bit on the small side for a full-sized suitcase.

Another closet at the corner of the entryway houses the in-room safe as well as the coffee maker.

Right at the beginning of the entryway you have the entrance to the bathroom. Inside is a vanity with a single wash basin, wall-mounted mirror and a shower-bathtub combo unit. Dispensers for body and hair wash are mounted on the wall inside the shower.

I liked that most of the room has has laminate floor. I think it is just cleaner and more hygienic than decade old carpet in some hotels.

Public Areas & Amenities

Lobby

The lobby is large and has many places to sit down and mingle. One half of the lobby space is taken up by the H Bar, while the rest is open and mixed used for the business center and other seating.

Business Center

The business center is in the lobby next to the outside glass wall of the building. It comes with two workstations and a printer. Directly attached to the business center is a desk with more chairs to set up your own laptop or just to hang out.

Fitness Center

The fitness center is large and has lots of different workout equipment. It sits in the corner of the building which provides more window areas for better lighting of the workout area. Because the fitness center is so large, it almost feels a bit empty. Which might be the case and it is not fully stocked yet. From the fitness center you can also get a glimpse of the pool area.

Open 24 hours

Pool

The pool area wasn’t open yet during my stay. But from what I could see it is a nice pool area. Let’s see what they make out of it and if they will provide many pool loungers.

Guest Laundry

The hotel has a guest laundry as well as dry-cleaning service set up. The laundry bags and paperwork are located in your closet in the room.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping was offered but I declined it for my short stay.

Dining

Breakfast

Again, guests of the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place share the same breakfast buffet as well as dining area. The buffet space is huge, but they don’t use it to its full potential. You get the basic continental breakfast you are used to from a typical Hyatt Place or Hyatt House. But they could have done better. Maybe they will. This property is still in its infancy.

There is plenty of seating in the breakfast area and they even have some outdoor seating. A sign near the entrance of the breakfast area lets you know that the breakfast is for dine-in only and you shouldn’t take anything to the room. I guess they want to make sure nobody gets the new rooms dirty by spilling food and coffee all over the place.

Breakfast Hours
Monday-Friday: 6:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

H Bar

Dinner and drinks are available at the H Bar of the hotel. It sits at the end of the lobby, and you can’t miss it.

Convenience Store

A small convenience store is located next to the front desk. They have quite a broad selection of items there.

Conclusion

It is a brand-new hotel and I liked how they combined the Hyatt House and Hyatt Place into one building.

Even though it was a brand-new building, lots of things were already broken. One of the three elevators was down for multiple days. The ice machine on my floor was broken. Not that I needed any, but everything is brand new. They still must work the kinks out because of being so new.

Overall, a great stay at the Hyatt Place Sacramento International Airport. The rooms at the “Hyatt Place” could have been a little bit more spacious but other than that no complaints.
