Starlux is a luxury airline but also a very young airline. The airline operated its first flight on January 23, 2020 between Taipei and Macau. Just before the Covid-pandemic would bring international air-travel to an almost still-stand. However, the airline has recovered well since then and with rising traveler numbers, the airline is ready to connect the United States to Asia and beyond.

Starlux announced a partnership with Alaska Airlines in April 2023. This new partnership allows to book connecting flights on a single ticket and passengers can earn  and redeem rewards through the airlines’ loyalty programs. Starlux is not a partner of any of the three major airline alliances: Star Alliance, SkyTeam or OneWorld. However, their partner airline Alaska Air joined OneWorld in 2021

This past weekend, August 17, 2024, Starlux inaugurated it’s newest non-stop service between Seattle and Taipei. Seattle is the third U.S. destination for Starlux after Los Angeles and San Francisco. Seattle plays a pivitole role for Starlux as it is the hometown airport and headquarter of Alaska Airlines.

Starlux Flight Schedule

The airline will have flights between Seattle and Taipei three times a week. Be ready to get up early or stay late, depending on how you look at it, to make the 2:10 a.m. departure time from Seattle. The flight will arrive in Taipei around 5:10 a.m. the next day. A very early arrival, which can make it tricky for accomodation if not planned accordingly.

The return flight from Taipei to Seattle looks better. Flight JX32 leaves Taipei around 8 p.m. and will arrive around 4:15 p.m. the same day. Yes, you travel “back in time” even though you will almost spend 11 hours on the plane.
