During another stay in Folsom, I chose the Courtyard by Marriott hotel in Folsom. I checked in late around 10 pm. The lobby is spacious and gives you a welcome feeling. The front desk agent was very friendly and she helped me really quick to get a room, even without a reservation. Because I am a Marriott Rewards cardholder, I also asked her about a room upgrade and she had a suite for me.
As a loyalty program member, you get not only additional points during check-in, you can also choose one item (but no alcohol) from the little market they have right next to the counter. That’s a really nice service of Marriott. Other brands let you choose between points or a welcome gift, which is usually a bottle of water and a candy bar.
My suite was huge, larger than I expected, and had everything in there to feel like really at home. Unfortunately, I could only enjoy it for a couple of days. The room was very clean and organized. You will find 2 TVs – one in the living room and the other in the bedroom. I even had access to a little backyard with a pavilion directly from my room.
The Hotel is located right next to Highway 50 and close to a lot of shops and a shopping mall with a nice movie theater. Everything is within walking distance. Downtown Folsom is also not far by car or taxi. Parking at the front of the hotel seems limited but you can drive around to the backside with more available parking.
This hotel has everything you need to feel relaxed and comfortable. A nice open and big lobby with a small restaurant, a small business area with PCs for you to use, and even a designated flight check-in station. Where you can check-in and print your boarding passes. The restaurant serves small meals the day and you also get Starbucks coffee here.
Besides that, you get a nice indoor pool and a jacuzzi. You need your guest room key to enter the pool area as well as the fitness area.
The gym has all you need to exercise and stay in shape.
Overall I was very satisfied with my stay at this hotel and I will use it again when I am going back to this area. Thanks, Marriott for the great stay.
