Booking & Stay Details
Nothing special to mention. I used the Best Western mobile app to book the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel a day before my planned arrival. Before booking, I checked with Google Maps, as the Best Western app still lacks a map feature and Best Western is just not willing to address this issue. I booked an AAA-rate which gave me a small discount. One of my weeknight stays was just under $300 while the second night was just over $200. Very pricey! Nothing special was going on in the area, but it’s probably because of the location. This was one of the few chain hotels in the area and others were not much cheaper either during the same period.
Location
As the name let’s you suggest, the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel is in the small town called Silverdale and it is a real beach front property. The hotel sits right on the beach of the Dyes Inlet. This body of water is connected to the Puget Sound which ultimately connects to the Pacific Ocean.

Parking
The Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel offers plenty of on-site parking spots around the building. Parking is complimentary at the hotel. You will need to provide your vehicle information during check-in as with pretty much every Best Western.
Check-In
Nobody was in line to check in when I arrived. After the usual ID and credit card verification I had to sign the usual paper contract Best Western hotels use. I asked if I could get moved to a room with a fantastic water view, as the room I booked was only with a partial water view. She was able to move me to a better room on the third floor with a head-on water view.

1 King Bed Room Water View with Balcony (Room 334)
This room is located close to the elevators. The room size is rather on the smaller side. There is still enough room to store all your belongings. I have been to Best Western hotels with smaller rooms. I was able to set up my two large suitcases without them being in my way.
As you enter the room you have a wall closet to your right with two sliding doors. Both sliding doors also function as a mirror. The bathroom is to the left and is tiny. To get into the shower, you have to close the door and “dance” around the toilet. Not very spacious. The vanity has a singly wash basin and a large wall-mounted mirror. There are soap dispensers next to the wash basin as well as inside the shower/bathtub unit.
The bedroom area features a king-sized bed with nightstands on either side of the bed. There are also power outlets and USB ports on either side of the bed.
Opposite the bed is a cabinet which holds a relatively large refrigerator as well as a microwave and some additional storage space. On top of the cabinet is a TV.
To the left of the cabinet is a work desk with an office chair. On top of it is also a try with the in-room coffee maker. Thanks to the tray, you can move the coffee maker easily away to have more space on the desk. Next to the bed is a sofa chair and a lamp on a stand.
The room comes with a large floor to ceiling windows and a sliding door to get out on the balcony. The balcony is small and has no furniture on it. You can pull the office chair out there to sit and enjoy the view. The view from this room is great as you have a head-on-water view and can see the backyard as well. Only the rooms on the ground floor and facing the water come with two chairs but they also have direct access to the grass area in the backyard.
The air conditioning controls are located on the wall between bed and bathroom.
Public Areas & Amenities
Lobby
The lobby is relatively small and consists of the hallway on the ground floor which connects all the different rooms and places like the business center, on-site restaurant, breakfast room and meeting rooms. There is a small seating area next to the main entrance. More benches are located just outside the main entrance, next to the driveway.
Business Center
The business center is located on the ground floor between the restaurant and breakfast room. There are two workstations and a printer available for use.

Pool & Spa
To get to the pool and spa you have to take the elevator to the basement floor. Follow the long hallway to the end where you get to a double door. Here you need to use your room key to enter the next room.

This room houses a sauna which is available to use by registered hotel guests free of charge.

To get to the pool, you have to take the door on your right as you enter the room after swiping your room key. Follow the next hallway which will lead you up the stairs to the heated indoor pool. The stairs also come with a stair elevator for handicapped people.
The pool and whirlpool are located in a green house on the ground floor. Around the pool are a few pool loungers. Fresh towels are ready to grab right in the pool area.
Guest Laundry
The guest laundry is located in the basement. Follow the same hallway you would take to get to the pool area and swipe your room key to enter the next room. The guest laundry will be on the other side of the room, you can’t miss it. Inside are a few washers and dryers as well as a vending machine where you can buy laundry detergent. Washers, dryers, and the detergent vending machine are all coin operated.

Backyard, Patio and Beach
The backyard can be accessed from the parking lot, or you can take the short hallway next to the front desk. The backyard offers a big grass area to hang out and relax as well as a patio area with chairs and tables. From here you have direct access to the beach. It’s a gravel beach and the water is too cold to swim year-round. Clear Creek Trail passes right through the backyard area of the hotel.

Dining
Breakfast
Breakfast is complimentary for all guests. It is served in a separate room on the ground floor. As you exit the elevators walk left until you see the entrance to the breakfast room on the right-hand side, past the business center.
It’s a very spacious room with tons of seating. If you are early enough or lucky, you can snag one of the tables by the windows and get a bit better view.
The hotel serves a continental breakfast buffet with all the food items you would expect. The scrambled eggs are great. Food choices overall are not too bad here. The staff was quick to replenish items and I love that you get real silverware and porcelain dishes rather than throwaway plastic and paperware.
Restaurant & Bar
Unfortunately, the on-site restaurant only offers an extremely limited food selection right now. Actually, you can only have different flavored chicken wings as a food choice. However, you have a wide selection of drinks from the bar.
Market
A market is located next to the front desk. The market has a very wide selection of items to purchase.

Conclusion
It was a great stay here at the Best Western Plus Silverdale Beach Hotel. The staff was amazing, and I really enjoyed the upgraded room with an awesome view. It’s a bit of a dated hotel building but that gives it a special charm, especially in this area. It gives you this nostalgic feel. Everything is still very well maintained. It surprised me that they had a saune for guests to use. That is rather rare, and you will find that usually only at “resort” properties.
