Booking & Stay Details

I use the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac Airport a lot as a transit hotel before or after flights when leaving out of the Seattle area. There is a Holiday Inn Express right next door which shares the same parking lot. The deciding factor of which one to book is mostly price and if there are any promotions going on. I book this hotel always at the last minute, after I already have my flights, and sometimes even as late as when I am already at the airport heading to Seattle. Therefore, I use the Marriott Bonvoy app to conveniently book the hotel.

Location

The hotel is very conveniently located just south of the airport terminal. Thanks to the free shuttle service and free parking, it’s a no-brainer to book this hotel. There are hotels closer to the airport, but they are more expensive. I am also always traveling heavy, with lots of bags, when I am on the road for work, therefore I always need a shuttle or ride share to get to the hotel and can’t drag my bags there.

Parking

There are plenty of parking spots available around the hotel. As mentioned earlier, this hotel shares the parking lot with the Holiday Inn Express next door. Another surprise is the complimentary parking for the Fairfield Inn as well as for the Holiday Inn Express. There are a lot of hotels surrounding the airport and offering free parking.

Shuttle Service

The hotel offers a free airport shuttle. Once you are at the courtesy island at the airport, call the hotel and let them know your location and they will send a shuttle to pick you up. The shuttle is shared between the Fairfield Inn and the Holiday Inn Express. In the morning the shuttle runs regularly back and forth between the airport and the hotel but always check with a front desk agent if the shuttle is scheduled, as they are sometimes suspended if nobody is going to the airport.

Check-In

I called the hotel to send the shuttle to the airport. I arrived late at night, but the shuttle service was still running. Confirm with the hotel if you arrive extremely late, after midnight and before 5 a.m. to see if they have a shuttle service available for that time and day. This is usually a dead zone where they don’t run the shuttle.

Front Desk

The check-in was quick and easy. My Marriott profile is set up to request a high floor. However, here at this hotel, I always ask if they can move me to the ground floor as I am just staying for the night and will be leaving again the next morning. This just makes it easier with all my bags to get in and out.

Elevators, if needed, are down the hallway on the left-hand side.

Check-In: 3 p.m.
Check-Out: 12 p.m.

1 Queen Bed Suite (Room 111)

Suites at this property will have a Queen bed only. As you walk in you have the bathroom with the walk-in shower and toilet on your right. The bathroom has a door and is very small. The vanity with the single sink and a wall-mounted mirror are outside the bathroom and on the opposite side of the entryway.

Bathroom

Passed the entryway is the bedroom area. It has a Queen bed on the right side. It is centered in this part of the room. One side comes with a nightstand mounted to the headboard while on the other side, you only have a small table.

Opposite the bed is a closet with an iron and ironing board. Outside the closet, on the shelves are a microwave, coffee maker, and ice bucket as well as a medium-sized refrigerator. Next to all that is a wall-mounted TV with a dresser below it.

Short divider walls sticking into the room, separate the bedroom area visually from the living room area. In the living room, part of the room is a sofa and a large work desk with a chair on the opposite side of the room. Above the desk, is another large wall-mounted TV. Between the desk and the sofa is a cocktail table and a lampstand sits in the corner of the room.

Living Room

The window in the living room area faces the parking lot. It comes with sunshades and blackout curtains for your convenience. Directly under the window is the AC unit. This unit is controlled by a remote panel mounted on the wall next to the bed.

Public Areas & Amenities

Lobby

The lobby is small. Most of the lobby consists of the breakfast and dining area and there are a few additional seating options in front of the front desk.

Seating in the Lobby

Business Center

Around the corner from the front desk is the business center. It consists of a desk with a single workstation and a printer. Usage is free.

Business Center

Fitness Center

The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac Airport has a decent-sized fitness center. Enough equipment to get a workout in and most people will use this hotel as a transit location.

Pool

Unfortunately, this hotel does not have a pool.

Guest Laundry

The guest laundry is located on the 2nd floor on the east side of the building. It comes with a washer and dryer, and it costs $2 each for a load. Luckily, these machines got upgraded and you can now use a credit card as well as Apple Pay to pay for your laundry. Soap is available at the front desk.

House Keeping

When you arrive, you opt automatically in for the following housekeeping services

  • Refresh service every other day starting on the 3rd day.
  • Full service every 7th day

If you decide to opt out of the above service you receive the following

  • No daily service
  • Full service every 7th day: This service is non-optional. DNDs will not be honored.
  • Periodic Wellness Checks

Guests staying two nights or less, will not receive any housekeeping service. Let the front desk know about your choice. They might not lay it out to you when you check in, but there will be a little paper card with your keys with the information about housekeeping.

Dining

Breakfast

The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac Airport offers a complimentary breakfast buffet in the lobby. It is a standard continental breakfast. Breakfast is good enough to get you started for the day, but by no means anything special. You get the usual stuff like scrambled eggs, cereals, bagels, fruit, coffee, and tea as well as juices. The only upside here at this hotel are the breakfast hours. During the week, breakfast starts at 5:00 a.m.

Hours:
Monday-Friday: 5:00 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 6:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Market

There is a small market opposite the front desk where you can get snacks, beverages, and other stuff you might need during your stay. Otherwise, you can always order from your favorite food delivery app.

Conclusion

The Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Seattle Sea-Tac Airport is a good hotel if you are transiting through the area. It’s conveniently located near the airport and the complimentary shuttle service makes it easy to get to and from the airport. Another big plus is the free parking.
