Booking & Stay Details

Nothing special to note here. I booked via the Hyatt app as it was the most convenient way for me to book. I chose this place for several reasons. It is close to NASA Causeway, which I will take every morning to go to work. The hotel also had one of the best rates in the area of all the hotel chains I checked. And the most important reason. It’s a Hyatt. My night counter got reset to 0 and I need at least 60 nights again this year to re-qualify for Globalist. To be honest, the nearby Courtyard by Marriott also looks fantastic and is a little bit closer to NASA Causeway but the price for this one was just through the roof during my selected dates.

Years ago, I stayed at the TownePlace Suites by Marriott Titusville Kennedy Space Center. This time, the TownePlace Suites was more expensive than the Hyatt Place and is also further away and requires me to drive through town.

Location

The Hyatt Place Titusville / Kennedy Space Center is located at the sound end of Titusville. The hotel is located next to NASA Causeway which leads to the Kennedy Space Center as well as the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex. Just on the other side of Highway 1, you have the Space Coast Regional Airport and the Warbird Museum. Close to the hotel is the American Police Hall of Fame & Museum. Next door is a Boeing Office. If you happen to go there for business, this hotel is within walking distance of the Boeing Office.

Parking

Parking is complimentary and there are plenty of parking spots available around the hotel. For the back entrance, you need your room key to unlock the door.

Parking is complimentary for hotel guests.

Check-In

I arrived at the airport at 7 a.m. and after I got my bag and car, I called the hotel to ask if I could do an early check-in. The agent on the phone told me that they had a room available and that I could check in at any time. After about 45 minutes I arrived at the hotel and was able to check in just as promised. It was a quick and easy check-in. The lobby was packed with people still enjoying their breakfast while I checked in. As a welcome amenity, I received two bottles of water and some candy. The candy part is new. Usually, I just get the water. That was a very nice and memorable touch.

1 King Bed Room (Room 413)

This room is a standard room and just like most rooms at a Hyatt Place.

As you walk in, you have the bathroom on the left. It has a sliding door, separating it from the rest of the room. Inside is a vanity, with a single sink and a wall-mounted mirror. Besides the toilet, there is also a shower with sliding glass doors.

The main part of the room consists of a King-sized bed. On either side is a nightstand which is mounted to the headboard and a light with power outlets. The bed is close to the window which comes with sunshades and a black-out curtain. Which you might need. Directly across the road from the hotel is an Intermodal Terminal of the Railroad. They have huge light towers which also face toward the hotel. When you lay in bed, they didn’t bother me, but they did when sitting in bed to watch TV. Looks like the fourth floor is the worst location to be. The third floor might be bad as well and all other floors (5,2,1) should be fine.

Sleeping Area

From this room, you can’t see the rockets launch. Every room with an uneven number is on the wrong side of the building. The window offers a view of the front parking lot as well as Highway 1 and the rail yard.

Opposite the bed is a closet. Inside you find an iron, an ironing board, and an in-room safe. Next to the closet is a dresser with drawers which also houses a mid-sized refrigerator. Above the dresser is a wall-mounted TV that swivels so you can watch it comfortably from the sofa bed or bed itself. Next to the dresser is a work desk with an office chair. On top of the desk is a lamp as well as a coffee maker and an in-room phone.

TV and workspace

Behind the desk, against the wall is an L-shaped sofa that can be transformed into a bed. It comes with a small table in front of it and a shelf off to the side.

Public Areas & Amenities

Lobby

The lobby has a space theme to it with all the posters and astronaut manakins. It’s after all one of the closest hotels to the Kennedy Space Center (Visitor Complex). There are a few seating options near the front desk.

Business Center

The Business Center is a bigger part of the lobby space. There is a large desk where you can set up or use one of the existing computer terminals. A printer is available as well.

Fitness Center

To get to the fitness center, follow the long hallway to the right behind the front desk. The fitness center is at the very end. It is well equipped with workout gear and well-lit as well thanks to the large windows all around. From the fitness center, you have a partial view of the pool area.

Pool

The pool area is located outside of the building. You need your room key to access the pool area and to get back into the building. There are plenty of chairs and chaise lounges around the pool area.

Hours
Dawn until dusk daily

Guest Laundry

The guest laundry is located on the third floor of the building and comes with one laundry machine and one dryer. Both are coin-operated. Unfortunately, there is no dry-cleaning service.

Dining

Breakfast

Breakfast is served in the room next to the lobby bar. You can’t miss it in the morning. The buffet setup is typical for a Hyatt Place property. You get some good choices but nothing spectacular. However, there might be a chance that you run out of seating space in the breakfast area. People also started sitting down in the bar area as well as at the big table of the business center. There are a few more dining tables located just outside the breakfast room. To get back in, you need your room key. The door to get back in is a bit tricky. After you tap your room key, wait for the noise to stop before pulling on the door. Otherwise, it won’t open. This outdoor dining patio space also comes with a fireplace.

Hours
Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Lobby Bar

The lobby bar is located next to the front desk. Can’t really miss it either. During breakfast hours, you can find the coffee sitting on the counter of the bar.

Hours
Daily from 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Marketplace

There is a small but hidden marketplace at the hotel as well. It is located right around the corner from the front desk at the corner of the bar. It looks strange because the cooler with the beverages has a curtain in front of it and looks like it’s closed off, but it is just to keep the cold air better inside. On the counter in the corner are a few snack items you can purchase as well. Just bring it to the front desk.

Conclusion

My stay here was great. Nothing extraordinary but I got exactly what I expected from this Hyatt Place property. The staff was great, and they tried to help wherever they could, even with the extension of my reservation. If you are a Hyatt fan and looking to requalify for status, this place is worth staying.

Hyatt Place Titusville / Kennedy Space Center

I had to extend my stay on last-minute notice, but the hotel was already sold out for the coming nights. Therefore, I moved to the Courtyard by Marriott Titusville Kennedy Space Center just down the road from the Hyatt Place.
