Not even the pandemic can stop BMW from offering its Ultimate Driving Experience (UDE) in this crazy year of 2020. If you don’t know what the Ultimate Driving Experience is, you should check out my previous experiences at these events. It’s a whole lot of fun. You can go on Street Drives with almost every model BMW builts or test your driving skills in the Auto Cross session and compete with other drivers. All of the above activities are free of charge. You only need to register on the event’s website.

Ultimate Driving Experience

This year will be different because of the ongoing Covid19 pandemic. Extra precautions are taken to ensure a safe event for every guest as well as staff. You have to undergo a temperature check before entering the event and if your temperature is 100.4° F or higher, you can’t participate. Masks are also required throughout the event. If you forgot yours, masks and gloves will be offered at the event. All the cars are wiped done between driving sessions and multiple times throughout the day. Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the event space and check-in will be contactless. Learn more about the precautions being taken for this event here. Please wear your mask and keep your distance from other people.

This year’s Autocross will also be different. Only one person will be inside the car at a time and the instructors will coach you by radio. Companions can watch from a designated view area.

The Ultimate Driving Experience makes a halt in 15 cities throughout the United States. Some of the stops have been already concluded but many more are still coming up in the next few weeks.

The M Control Academy is an advanced driver’s training program, which will this year only be offered in New Jersey and Orange County, CA which just ended today.

Go sing up for your preferred date and time at your location. Unfortunately, this year you can only sing up for one event, even if it’s a waitlist. Get your spots now. The sing up is only required if you want to participate in the free Auto Cross sessions. Visiting the event doesn’t require an appointment. You can go there and check out some of the cars as well as sign up for the Street Drives.

M Track Days

Besides the Ultimate Driving Experience, BMW offers the M Track Days as well. With 7 stops throughout the country, this is really the best driving experience you can get. You will get on a real racetrack and will drive one of many BMW M performance vehicles like the M6 or M8. These events do come with a price tag, it’s approx $500 for a half-day session and around just under $1000 for the full-day session. But you will spend a lot of time in the car driving.

Check the website for more information about the M Track Days.

For more questions about either of the events, you can check BMW’s FAQ section.

Now, get ready for the Ultimate Driving Experience. It is truly amazing. I have participated in these events multiple times over the last few years. It is just so much fun and you meet amazing and like-minded people.
