In 2020 Chase and Lyft introduced a partnership where you could earn additional points for riding Lyft and paying with eligible Chase cards. These benefits got extended through March of 2025.

However, if you are a Sapphire Reserve or J.P. Morgan Reserve cardholder you get another benefit. You get two years of Lyft Pink complimentary.

What is Lyft Pink All Access?

Lyft didn’t make it very easy. There is Lyft Pink and Lyft Pink All Access. With your Sapphire Reserve card, you get two years of Lyft Pink All Access. All Access is the higher tier of their premium subscription program.

This is how Lyft describes the difference between the two.

Lyft offers two membership plans: Lyft Pink ($9.99/month or $99/year) and Lyft Pink All Access ($199/year). For just $9.99/mo (or $99/year), Lyft Pink members get the benefits of free Priority Pickup upgrades, member-exclusive pricing, and free roadside assistance, right in the Lyft app. Plus, rental upgrades, one year of Grubhub+ for free ($9.99/month value), and free bike or scooter unlocks. For $199/year, Lyft Pink All Access members get all of the benefits of the Lyft Pink plan, plus more bikeshare benefits. Lyft Pink All Access gives you access to unlimited 45-minute classic bike rides and ebike and scooter discounts. See our full FAQ page for more details on our bike and scooter benefits.
The main difference is the bike share and scooter discount benefit. If you are still confused, here is Lyft’s FAQ which can hopefully answer a few more questions you have.
Interesting is also the roadside assistance service which you can use four times within a membership year. Make sure you check out the FAQ for this benefit as well. The roadside assistance benefit works with your personal car or any other personal car you have permission to drive. You should definitely have a look at this benefit, as it is always good to know what you can do when you need roadside assistance.

How to activate your Chase Lyft Benefit

The easiest way is doing this in the Lyft app. Add your Chase Sapphire Reserve card as payment method in the Lyft app. After that open the menu and tap on Lyft Pink.

It should greet you with a message that you can get two years of complimentary Lyft Pink All Access. If you don’t see the message and you just added your Chase credit card. Give it a few minutes and try again.

The benefit has to be activated before December 31, 2024, to get your two years of Lyft Pink All Access. After that, the membership will auto-renew. The following year you only need to pay 50% of the annual fee for the subscription while it will renew at a 100% at your fourth membership year.

You can cancel any time. Lyft will send you reminders before you get charged for your first renewal and you can then cancel your Pink membership if you are only interested in using the two free years.

Earn with Chase and Lyft

As mentioned, Chase and Lyft introduced their partnership in 2020 where you can earn additional Ultimate Rewards Points while charging your Lyft rides to an eligible Chase card. Different cards will earn different points.

Cards which earn 5x

  • Sapphire Preferred: 5x total points on Lyft rides.
  • Sapphire: 5x total points on Lyft rides.
  • Freedom: 5% total cash back on Lyft rides.

Cards which earn 5x

  • Sapphire Reserve: 10x total points on Lyft rides.
  • J.P. Morgan Reserve: 10x total points on Lyft rides.

Lyft Partner Programs

Besides earning additional Chase Ultimate Rewards Points you can also earn additional points and miles with one of Lyft’s partners.

  • Alaska Mileage Plan: 1x miles per dollar spent on Lyft rides in US and Canada. Through December 31, 2022, you will earn 2x miles per dollar spent
  • Delta SkyMiles: 2x SkyMiles per dollar spent on airport rides; 1x on all other Lyft rides in the U.S. only
  • Hilton Honors: 3x points per dollar spent on private rides; 2x points per dollar spent on shared rides in the U.S. only.

Conclusion

It’s nice that the Chase Sapphire Reserve finally offers some additional benefits. It’s the most expensive card in Chase’s Sapphire line-up and for a while the Preferred even had better benefits than this $550 annual fee credit card. I have used Lyft only once when I was not able to get an Uber ride.

But with the new earning benefits, 10x on Ultimate rewards points and on top of that also hotel or airline points/miles it makes it more compelling than Uber. Well Uber lets me earn Marriott points but the overall earning rate is just better with Lyft.
