Disney’s Movies Anywhere lets you watch movies and TV shows all in one central place. Last year’s launch offer included 5 free movies when you linked your Movies Anywhere account to another service.
Finally, it supports now Microsoft Movies & TV. Microsoft Movies & TV is now the last of the big portals joining Movies Anywhere. This will allow you to watch your content on Windows PCs and your X-Box.
Here the full list of supported services
- Apple iTunes
- Google Play Movies
- Microsoft Movies & TV
- Amazon Prime Video
- Vudu
- FandangoNow
You can link all of these accounts to your Movies Anywhere account and all your movies will be synced across all services. For example, you buy a movie in the iTunes store, it will now also be available in Microsoft Movies & TV.
With adding your Microsoft account to Movies Anywhere, you will receive the free movie X-Men: Days of Future Past.
The free movie offer is valid from now until August 28th. But it can be canceled at any time. So you better hurry up to get another free movie or your first movie for the collection at all.
*Registration with Movies Anywhere and syncing for the first time with one participating Digital Retailer required to receive X-Men: Days of Future Past (Theatrical HD Version). The offer is available from August 6, 2018, through August 28, 2018. Movies are subject to change. Movies Anywhere reserves the right to modify or cancel this offer at any time. Offer limited to one per customer and account. Offer may not be combined with other offers. The offer is not transferable and may not be resold. Void where prohibited. Movies Anywhere is open to U.S. residents age 13+. Visit MoviesAnywhere.com for the Movies Anywhere terms of use.
I am not sure when they added FandangoNow but that’s another great service. FandangoNow integrates with UltraViolet. Newer DVDs or Blu-rays have sometimes a code that will give you a digital copy of the movie you just purchased as well.
With this great service, all your movies get synced now between all your services and make them available on pretty much any device.
The Downside
There is one issue with Movies Anywhere. It will only sync movies from certain studios which are at the moment:
- 20th Century Fox
- Sony Pictures
- Universal
- Disney
- Warner Brothers
Movies from other studios are excluded, at least for right now. I hope this will be something that gets resolved in the future.
