Update: During my stay at this property, it was called Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas South but is now called Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Stadium Area.
Booking & Stay Details
Ok, so I had to go to a big convention in Las Vegas. I wasn’t sure if I would be even able to make it and therefore didn’t book a room ahead of time. About two weeks before the convention, I looked for rooms and all the Casinos and Hotels along the Las Vegas Strip were outrageously expensive, $300 and more. As the convention was at the Convention Center, I would have preferred a hotel or casino near the Las Vegas Monorail. But everything was just over the top and expensive. The next best location was the Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Stadium Area which was only $180/night. Thanks to my Gold Status with MGM because of my Hyatt Globalist status, I was able to park for free at the MGM Grand to use the Monorail.
Location
The Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Stadium Area is located on the south end of Las Vegas. Next to I-15 and very close to Las Vegas Airport. It’s about a 10-minute drive to the airport. A bunch of other hotels are in the same area here, including a Courtyard by Marriott and a Fairfield Inn by Marriott. Besides the Marriott properties, there are also two IHG properties close by. The hotel is also very close to Allegiant Stadium. You can walk there from the hotel.
What I didn’t know is the proximity of the Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Stadium Area to Larry Flynt’s Hustler Club. The club is only one block away from the hotel and the Residence Inn is the closest hotel to the club. Their music is so loud that I heard it in my room, which was one of the closest ones to the club and facing that direction. I moved after the first night, just in case, as I had a busy week ahead of me and wanted to get a good night’s sleep every day. There is also some plane noise as the hotel is right next to the airport and in the flight path. However, these noises are not nearly as bad as the stuff coming from the nightclub.
Parking
There are plenty of parking spots all around the two hotel buildings and in front of the gatehouse. Parking is $18/night. This fee got waived during my stay and I wasn’t even aware of it until I wrote this post. Make sure you tell them you will be parking as you have to put a placard in your car to show that you are a guest at the hotel. During events at the nearby Allegiant Stadium, they charge $75 for parking for non-hotel guests.
Shuttle Service
Unfortunately, the hotel does not have a shuttle service anymore. I was hoping that they would have a shuttle to the airport or the Las Vegas Strip. Ever since the pandemic, the hotel stopped providing a shuttle service.
Check-In
Check-in was easy. Nothing special. ID verification and then swiping the card. I got my room keys and a map with the location of my room as well as a recommendation for where to park. I tried to get a complimentary upgrade to a 1 Bedroom Suite, but they were unfortunately sold out on a few days of the week. My welcome amenity for my status with Marriott was either points or a market item.
Check-In: 3 p.m.
Check-Out: 12 p.m.

Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed (Room 120)
This room is located in Building A of the complex. It is the last room on the outside facing side of the building. As mentioned, this room faces towards the nightclub one block away and you can hear the noise of the extremely loud music there. I stayed there one night and even in the morning, they were still going. I changed rooms the next morning, as I was worried it would interfere with my sleep.
As you walk in you have the kitchen in front of you. It comes with everything you need to cook a meal. Full-sized refrigerator and coffee machine, toaster, microwave, dishwasher, kitchen sink, and all the utensils, dishes, and pans for cooking. There is a small dining table with two chairs as well.

The living area consists of an L-shaped sofa bed, a cocktail table, and a large work desk with an office chair. The TV is mounted on top of a dresser next to the work desk. You can turn the TV around to be viewed either from the bed or the sofa. The desk is in front of a window that faces outside towards the walkway to the parking lot. It’s not the best spot for a window if you want privacy. There is quite a bit of foot traffic back and forth on this pathway. The dresser with the TV separates the living area from the sleeping area.

There you find a King-sized bed with a nightstand on either side of the bed. Each of the nightstands comes with a lamp and power outlets. The window next to the bed faces outwards to the pathway to the parking lot.

Next to the bed is an opening that leads to the dressing room in front of the bathroom. Here you find a vanity with a single sink and a wall-mounted mirror. Opposite that is a closet with an iron and ironing board as well as space to hang and stow your clothes. The bathroom itself is rather small and only holds the toilet and a walk-in shower with a sliding door.
Studio, 1 King, Sofa bed (Room 429)
This Studio room is located in Building B of the Complex. Each of the buildings only has one elevator at the center of the building. The elevators are so unbelievably slow. It’s very annoying. This room is the second room next to the elevator. At least easy to get to.
As you walk in you have the living room area right in front of you. It comes with an L-shaped sofa bed, a cocktail table, and a work desk with an office chair. The office chair is in front of a window which gives you a view of the courtyard and pool area. Next to the desk is a fireplace which you can’t use anymore. It’s just decorative now.

The kitchen area is next to the main door. It is a fully stocked kitchen and comes with everything you need to cook. This includes a microwave, full-size refrigerator, and coffee machine as well as a toaster, dishwasher, and kitchen sink. In the cabinets, you find all the utensils, silverware, pans, dishes, and whatever you need to cook. There is a small dining table with two chairs as well.

A dresser with a TV on top is the separator between the living area and the sleeping area. The TV can be turned around to be viewed either from the bed or the sofa. The sleeping area comes with a King-sized bed and a nightstand on either side. Each of the nightstands has a lamp and power outlets are in the base of the lamp. There is another window that also faces outwards over the courtyard.
Next to the bed is an opening that leads to the dressing room in front of the bathroom. Inside is a vanity that comes with a single sink and wall-mounted mirror. Behind that is a closet which holds an iron, an ironing board, and hangers for your clothes.

The bathroom has a door to separate it from the rest of the room. Inside is a shower/tub combination unit and the toilet. It’s not very spacious but it does its job well.
Public Areas & Amenities
Lobby
The lobby is very spacious. It comes with plenty of seating and most of it is used to dine during breakfast hours. They also turn the lights off in these areas throughout the day. A fireplace is located on the outside wall of the building, and you can sit in front of it either on the inside (in the lobby) or outside (in the courtyard). This is pretty nice and a great place to mingle with the rest of your group.

Business Center
Opposite the front desk are two workstations and a printer you can use. They are set up on a counter and are made for use while standing. For some reason, there are a lot of websites blocked on the two computers.

Fitness Center
The fitness center is located in the gatehouse. When you are standing in front of the front desk, turn 180 degrees and walk past the breakfast dining area. The fitness center is at the end of the hallway to your left, opposite the restrooms.

Hours
24 hours daily
Pool & Sports Court
In the courtyard of the hotel is the pool area. You need your room key to enter. Besides the pool and hot tub, there are a bunch of pool chaise loungers and a BBQ grill.
Pool Hours
9:00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
Between the gatehouse and Building A is a sports court that can be used for Tennis or Basketball. The front desk will provide you with the equipment.

Sports Court Hours
9:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Guest Laundry
The guest laundry is located next to the elevator on the second floor of each of the two buildings. The machines are coin-operated.
Dining
Breakfast
Well, breakfast is nothing special. It is rather subpar to what you would expect. It’s a continental breakfast buffet every morning but they seem to run out frequently of items. One day there was no 2% milk, the other day they were short on cereals. It also depends on who is setting up the breakfast. There is an older lady working there and she is awesome. She sets up also the waffle station every day she is on duty. The one day she was off, another lady took over and when asked about the waffles, she said, the waffle station is only available during the weekend. Well, maybe with her. The older lady was so attentive. She greeted everyone and even cleaned the dishes while we were still sitting at the table. She also brought a new cup of orange juice over after she asked me if I wanted more. This service was over the top of what I would expect here.
However, the food items are not that great. They rarely ever had scrambled eggs or eggs in general. Then most days they have breakfast sandwiches. They are overcooked and one of the buns is too hard to even bite. I survived. I never left hungry, but I just expected a little bit better breakfast items. Compared to other Residence Inns I have been to, this is probably the worst if it comes to breakfast.
Hours
Monday-Friday: 6:30 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
Saturday & Sunday: 7:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Market
A little hidden, but next to the front desk is a small market where you can buy the usual snacks and beverages. There is also a microwave if you want to reheat something. I don’t know why it is there, but all rooms come with a microwave anyway. The market is open 24/7.

Conclusion
Overall, the hotel did what I intended to use it for. A place to sleep while I am out and about all day, every day. The noise from the nightclub was disturbing, especially if you are in the wrong part of one of the buildings. The Residence Inn by Marriott Las Vegas Stadium Area is also a bit dated. The breakfast wasn’t that good either. Definitely not on the list to come back, if one of the other hotels in the vicinity has a similar price. But I also don’t know how good or bad these hotels are, as I haven’t been to one of them. The staff was very friendly, and I liked how attentive the older lady was during breakfast. She was just the best. Other than that, no complaints at all.
