Marriott created a corner on their website which is dedicated to lifetime elite members. I was one of the few lucky ones who was able to receive Lifetime Titanium status. This status was grandfathered when Marriott and SPG merged, and you only had the chance to achieve that status during the merger.

Now the highest status you can match to is Lifetime Platinum status. The new website for lifetime elite members gives some cool stats about your status. I do love stats.

However, I found some discrepancies between the stats shown on the Lifetime Elite website and my actual account balance. I don’t how often the stats get updated, but the difference is significant. There is also no more history available after the SPG-Marriott merger and it is impossible now to calculate the numbers manually.
Besides the stats, there was also a gift waiting for Lifetime Platinum and Titanium members. You could choose to have a set of luggage tags shipped to you. Well, i am not too big into luggage tags. I have some cheap ones on my checked bags, as the airline employees will destroy them anyway and have some nicer ones on my carry-on stuff and other things like bag packs which I don’t even use to fly. However, the tags make it easy to identify my bag if I go to a conference or if I lose it and an honest person finds it. I have received so many luggage tags from airlines, I don’t even have that many bags to use them all.
Either way, it was a gift and I opted to receive the set of luggage tags. I didn’t expect much in quality of the tags and was simply curious either way. Over the years, I have received other gifts from Marriott because of my status with them. I received a laptop pouch as well as my Marriott Bonvoy Lifetime Titanium Elite member card.
A few days ago, a package arrived in the mail and at first, I didn’t know what it would be. It was just a plain box with no labeling except the package sticker. At that point, I even forgot that I ordered the luggage tags. 😅
Once I opened it, I knew right away what it was and from whom. You can see the Marriott Bonvoy Branding on the inside of the lid of the shipping box as well as on the box inside the box. The inside box is fancy. A tab is held in place by a magnet to hold the box closed. As you open it, it becomes a tri-bold box with the two luggage tags sitting in the middle. Just check the pictures below. Easier than a thousand words to describe them.

These tags are custom made bespoke luggage tags designed exclusively for Lifetime Titanium members and are made of recycled materials. If you have received these luggage tags, scan the QR code inside and you can give feedback.
It’s a nice gift from Marriott to some of their most loyal customers. Are you one of the happy Lifetime elites and have you received yours yet?
