Most of you probably know Audi on demand under its former name – Silvercar. That’s what it was called when I first booked a rental car. After a few years, Audi actually bought Silvercar but also had its own rental fleet with Audi on demand. At the end of last year, Audi killed the name Silvercar and rebranded it as Audi on demand, but it is still basically Silvercar. The service also took a big downturn convenience wise. SIlvercar had many airport locations at the beginning. Which was super helpful and that’s how I got to rent more with them. They also opened locations within cities but still strictly dedicated rental locations.
Nowadays, all the rental is done through Audi dealerships all over the country. Right now, there are no more rental locations at airports and it is always an Audi dealership.
But it is such a weird up and down with the dealerships too. It is not very consistent. Dealerships start to participate at Audi on demand and later drop out again. It’s just strange.
One good thing about this service is, that you can do long term rentals of 30 days and more without any big hassle. That’s at least what is advertised. Haven’t had any personal experience with that yet. Also for a fee, you can have the car delivered to your location. This service starts at a $100. Maybe, you can have them deliver the car to the airport? But it makes renting just so much more expensive with this fee.
