Business Extra is the business rewards program of American Airlines. Companies, no matter the size, can sign up for the program and earn points when their employees fly on American Airlines and selected partners. American Airlines just announced Japan Airlines as their newest Business Extra partner.

Instead of miles, companies will earn points which then can be used for upgrades, flights, an Admirals Club Membership or even give Gold Status to someone.

Points earned with Business Extra will expire after 2 years. They always expire on December 31st of the second year. This year, American Airlines made an exception due to the ongoing COVID19 pandemic.

Points which were scheduled to expire this year on December 31, will now expire next year on December 31, 2021.

Let’s hope 2021 will be a better year and we can get back to traveling.
