Beginning on October 1, 2015 you can earn Mileage Plan Miles on flights of Icelandair. Icelandair operates nonstop flights to Iceland from US cities like Seattle, and Portland, with convenient connections to over 20 destinations in Europe. Take a stopover of up to 7 days in Iceland for no additional charge and visit two countries for the price of one.

Plus, MVP Gold and Gold 75K members will enjoy complimentary access to the Icelandair Saga Lounge. More benefits to come in 2016.

To celebrate this new partnership you can earn double miles on all flights on Icelandair between October 1, 2015 and December 15, 2015. Click here to register for this promotion, otherwise you won’t earn double miles.

This new partnership allows you now to earn even more Mileage Plan miles on international routes. Just recently Alaska Airlines announced Hainan Airlines as their new partner.

If you are lucky, you can take Icelandair’s Hekla Aurora plane on your trip to Iceland or Europe. I was able to spot the plane in Seattle taking off, but wasn’t able to take a flight on it yet.

I am very excited about that partnership, because I am flying a lot to Europe and that gives me new options and routes to do so and earn valuable Mileage Plan Miles.
